OverviewPoetic Justice is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization with the purpose of offering a positive, constructive form of self-expression to those affected by incarceration. We accomplish this purpose through offering writing classes that humanize and empower those at-risk of incarceration, currently incarcerated, or previously incarcerated. Poetic Justice is comprised of an all volunteer, all female staff who seek to help develop the voices of women who have found their voices lost, forgotten, or unheard. All proceeds directly fund our program. Oklahoma has the highest incarceration rate of women in the world. For every 100,000 women, 132 in Oklahoma will be incarcerated with the national average at only 68. ""Poetic Justice Volume 2"" is a collection of poems from incarcerated women throughout the state of Oklahoma that detail their life experiences and emotional fortitude. Table of ContentsReviewsWhat I love about the class is the absolute love and acceptanceof us all by the leaders, no matter age, crime, sentence, or ability. Before this class, I felt like I was just a number. After, I feel that my voice can be heard and people appreciate what I have to say; they can relate to my struggle as well. What I love about this class is that this class gives you a voice. We were able to say whatever that was on our minds, in our heads, and it was acknowledged and appreciated. It was like I mattered. I feel confident, triumphant, like a conqueror, and impossible to defeat after finishing this class.
