Shirley A. Largent Hammonds is one of nine siblings. Born the daughter of Starlin and Elsie Largent, she grew up on a farm in Porum, Oklahoma, and lived there until the age of ten. At that time, her dad sold the farm and all the animals and moved to California. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of twelve. She thanks Him for giving her a very creative mind. She has always loved to write since childhood and now reads poems to the congregation at the church where she attends.
