Ryan has personally helped to unlock over $150 million in investment for young people whiledriving measurable improvements in multiple educational outcomes across San Antonio.As Chief Impact Officer at the San Antonio Area Foundation, Ryan leads efforts to ""closeopportunity gaps for those who need it most."" He also serves as Board Chair for the Children'sFunding Project, which has secured billions of dollars in new public investment for childrenand youth nationwide. As former CEO of UP Partnership, he spearheaded the creation of acountywide plan that has produced consistent annual increases in postsecondary enrollment forBexar County.Ryan brings both academic rigor and practical experience to his work. He holds a PhD in UrbanPlanning and Policy and his leadership experience spans major institutions including the YMCAof Metropolitan Chicago, Northwestern University, and The Field Museum.
