Author Information

Born in London, Wenda Shurety travelled extensively as part of her studies to become a research scientist before developing a love of writing stories for children. She now lives in Brisbane. Pocket Treasure is Wenda's second picture book with Affirm Press, following the successful Backyard Magic (2021). Juliana Oakley is an illustrator in love with colour. Ever since early childhood she was drawing and scribbling on everything she could get her hands on; albums, wallpaper and books to mention a few.Now her art is contemporary in style but with a bit of nostalgia, often childlike with a touch of humor and mystery.She draws her inspiration from her family, from travels, from nature and childhood memories. Her illustrations often start from pencil sketches and are then finished digitally.
