Author Information

Martin Anker Wiedemann has been sailing since his childhood years in anything from a water bicycle to spacious family cruisers and is a passionate yachtsman. Sailing a double ended Grinde IOR half tonner and an active member of the board of the Danish Grinde Club, he co-authored and published the Danish edition of With a Circle in Mind in 2015 about the cultural history of the modern Scandinavian double ender along with marine surveyor Uwe Gräfer from Hamburg in Germany. He considers himself a smallboat archaeologist with a special passion for the tiniest cruising yachts. His belief is, that the joy of sailing is inversely proportional to the size of the boat. In 2020 Martin Wiedemann was the initiator of a group of founding fathers to create a boat guild making sailing available and affordable for everyone from the age of 13 sharing the experience of sailing and being part of a community in two classic pocket cruisers.
