Overview

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Pobedit ( ) is an alloy of carbon (C), tungsten (W) and cobalt (Co). It was invented in the Soviet Union in 1929. Later a number of similar alloys based on tungsten and cobalt were developed. Pobedit is created using powder metallurgy. It is close in hardness to diamond (85-90 on the Rockwell scale). Carbon is the chemical element with symbol C and atomic number 6. As a member of group 14 on the periodic table, it is nonmetallic and tetravalent-making four electrons available to form covalent chemical bonds. Tungsten, also known as wolfram, is a chemical element with the chemical symbol W and atomic number 74. Cobalt is a hard, lustrous, gray metal, a chemical element with symbol Co and atomic number 27. Cobalt-based colors and pigments have been used since ancient times for jewelry and paints, and miners have long used the name kobold ore for some minerals.
