Author Information

Thirty eight seasons of organized sports gave Michael Williamsen many opportunities, such as developing self esteem, courage, team spirit, sportsmanship, friendships, as well as many other blessings. One such opportunity was an invitation to coach his son's baseball team. The damage to youth sports by hidden agendas of coaches and parents immediately become apparent. Mike took this as a calling to write what he called, the book I was born to write, We Played Baseball, with the hook line: While trying to reunite his broken family, young Bryan discovers kids baseball is not just a game, not about kids, and little to do with baseball. Michael's wife pestered him for spending so much time coaching and writing baseball. His reply: Everything you love about me, I got playing baseball. Michael's determination to return the blessings he received through sports to kids led him into the international movement, A Glove of Their Own. This led into joining All Balls No Bull to bring kids baseball back to kids. He is also on the Board of Directors for Young Imaginations placing and operating music and dance in schools for underserved children. Playing Catch With Destiny is a story I have wanted to tell for 30 years. Being able to help children with sensory disorders -- the purpose of sports in my life just couldn't get any better. Michael Williamsen
