Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor Information"Silvia entered medical school with the purpose of doing research and obtained a PhD in Neuroscience (complex genetics of psychiatric diseases) at Karolinska Institute in 2002. Following post-doctoral training and 4 years of leading her own research team at Karolinska, she switched into consulting and professional problem solving. During her work as a healthcare consultant, she has supported projects focused on data privacy concerns and affordability of innovative medicines, while spending most of her spare time with on the problem of consciousness. The result is this book called ""Plato's Prisoners,"" in which Silvia and her brother Thomas introduce Flip-Book Idealism (FBI) to support the notion that consciousness, and not spacetime or matter, is primary. Lucid dreams during his adolescence sparked Thomas' interest in the experience of other states of consciousness and the nature of experience itself. Ever since, he has been intrigued to find out more about consciousness and its relation to spiritual teachings. After finishing his PhD in physics, Thomas held several postdoc positions in the US and then became a patent attorney in Germany. He also co-founded two start-ups related to software development."
