Plant Pathology, Fungal Diversity, and Biotechnological Advances in Agriculture

Overview

This book brings together recent scientific contributions exploring the intersections of plant health, natural bioactive compounds, sustainable innovations in agricultural systems, and resource valorization. Divided into two focused sections: Phytochemicals and Essential Oils – Exploring Bioactivity in Plant Pathology and Fungal Diversity, and Biotechnological Advances in Agriculture and Resource Valorization, this book presents original scientific articles that detail practical approaches and findings from recent research. Seamlessly integrating traditional knowledge with recent advances in phytochemistry, microbiology, and biotechnology, this book is a valuable resource for teachers, researchers, agronomists, and students within academic and research institutions. Addressing key topics such as essential oils with antimicrobial potential, plant disease management, phytoplankton dynamics, and the valorization of agricultural and natural resources, it offers practical insights that contribute meaningfully to scientific knowledge and sustainable agricultural innovation.

With solid teaching experience, she has supervised students at all levels. As an active member of MAASI, she contributes to conference organization and peer review. She also serves on the editorial boards of the journals MJQQR and JMS: Materials in Electronics.   Dr. Lamia DAGHOR is a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Mundiapolis University. Previously, she spent five years at the School of Engineering and Innovation (E2IM), Private University of Marrakech. Holding a PhD in Marine Biology and Ecology, her doctoral work focused on phytoplankton and palynological dynamics in Moroccan lagoons. She later completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Ecology at FSBM, Hassan II University, in collaboration with the National Institute of Fisheries Research. Over the past 15 years, she has published 11 articles and 3 book chapters, and presented at over 17 scientific conferences.   Hicham Chatoui holds a PhD in Neurosciences, Physiology & Eco-Health from FST Beni Mellal and FSSM, Cadi Ayyad University. He earned a Master’s in Life Sciences and Health, specializing in Anthropobiology, and began teaching in 2009 at FSSM. From 2013 to 2023, he was Director of the Health and Agro-Industry Engineering Department at the School of Engineering and Innovation, Private University of Marrakech. He is currently a Lecturer-Researcher at ISPITS Marrakech, Ministry of Health and Social Protection. Dr. Chatoui has authored several books, articles, and chapters, and coordinated numerous international scientific events. His research spans telemedicine, e-health, neurosciences, immunology, nutrition, biomedical engineering, and environmental health impacts.   Mounir Tilaoui holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology-Biochemistry from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Beni Mellal, focusing on the antitumor activity of natural products. After completing his degree, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland, studying intrinsic apoptosis pathways in cancer therapy. He continued his research at Sultan Moulay Slimane University on natural product-based anticancer drugs and gene expression in triple-negative breast cancer.
