An alumna of Agra University, he had an overwhelming 37 years of teaching experience. Dr. C.M. Govil had been honoured with Prof. V. Puri Gold Medal and had been the President of Indian Science Congress (Plant Science Section) in the year 2002. He had also been a UGC Philippine Visiting Professor and an I.N.S.A. Royal Society Exchange Fellow.
