Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationKath Woodward is Professor of Sociology at the Open University and has published extensively on the subject of sport, including Embodied Sporting Practices (Palgrave, 2009), and Boxing, Masculinity and Identity: the ""I"" of the Tiger (Routledge, 2007). Her Introduction to the Social Sciences; the Big Issues, Routledge, is in its second edition. She has been chair of the immensely popular Social Sciences Level 1 course Introduction to the Social Sciences and its two 30 points versions, as well as working on the innovative, multi media level 1 This Sporting Planet. She is building a collection for the British Library on Sex Power and the Games for the 2012 Olympics and has contributed to the Summer Games web site. She is currently a member of the ESRC Centre for Research into Social and Cultural Change, CRESC and a co director of the AHRC funded, Contact Zones at the BBC World Service working on Sport Across Diasporas.
