Reviews

The short sentences and the alliterative P's, all emphasizing the cooperative pizza-and-taco making in the kitchen, make this a really accessible read. The book also makes cooking as a family look fun. The bright, cartoonlike illustrations are filled with comic and meaningful details, like the standoff between Pia and her family in one two-page spread, with Pia and a cat facing her family and the pug. Author Information

Following a long career in book publishing, Betsy Groban is a correspondent for The Boston Globe and writes a column on reading for Publishers Weekly's Children's Bookshelf. She is also the book review editor of the Jane Austen Society, a member of the National Book Critics Circle, and serves on the advisory board of Brandeis University Press. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has two remarkable grown daughters, two awesome (equally grown) sons-in-law, and three magnificent grandchildren, one of whom is called Pia. Pizza for Pia is her very first book for children. Allison Steinfeld grew up in Connecticut where she spent hours getting lost in her library books. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her two very fluffy cats. When not providing essential head scratches and belly rubs, she finds time to illustrate books like the Wait! What? series and the Kid Legends series.
