Pistols at Dawn

Overview

She aimed for justice... but found herself in the line of love. Eliza Kirtland will do anything to see the man who destroyed her sister's life brought to justice-even if it means breaking into the Earl of Killingworth's country manor and pointing a pistol at him. But the notorious nobleman quickly proves his innocence, leaving Eliza certain the true villain hides somewhere within his household. Determined to uncover the truth, Eliza throws herself into her investigation-until a careless remark sparks a vigilante attack against the earl's visiting nephew. Shocked by the violence and her own role in it, she agrees to let her sister nurse the young man back to health, unaware that the arrangement will bind her fate to the very man she mistrusts. As tempers flare and secrets unravel, Eliza and the Earl of Killingworth are drawn into a dangerous alliance. What begins as suspicion soon ignites into a passion neither expected-and when evil strikes again, the two must rely on each other to survive. In a duel between truth and temptation, love may be the most perilous weapon of all. Acclaimed author Andrea Pickens delivers another captivating Regency filled with wit, courage, and slow-burning passion. Fans of Mary Balogh and Jo Beverley will be swept away by this tale of a fearless lady, a notorious earl, and the perilous power of love.

Author Information

I started creating books at the age of five, or so my mother tells me. And she has the proof-a neatly penciled story, the pages lavishly illustrated with full color crayon drawings of horses and bound with staples-to back up her claim. I have since moved on from Westerns to writing about Regency England (clearly I have a thing for Men In Boots!) a time and place that has captured my imagination ever since I opened the covers of Jane Austen's ""Pride and Prejudice.""I have a BA and an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University, where I studied book design (As you see, I've always had a left brain-right brain love affair with art and the printed word.) These days, when I'm not tethered to my keyboard I enjoy traveling to interesting destinations around the world-however, my favorite spot is London, where the esoteric museums, funky antique markets and used book stores offer a wealth of inspiration for my stories.
