Overview

Upon first glance, Jayde Calahall appears to be just like any other high school junior attending school in Pinehallow, Oregon. She maintains good grades and attends football games just like anyone else. This though, is only half the picture. When at home, away from the prying eyes of her peers and the rest of the townsfolk, Jayde can escape the lie that she hides behind. In the safety of the private neighborhood she lives in, Jayde can be who she really is. The daughter of vampires. The cousin of magic wielders. The wielder of two twin short swords. The princess of a demolished kingdom that she never had the chance to lay eyes on let alone live in. As the story unfolds, unlikely friendships arise, rules are bent, and a shocking discovery is made. Werewolves, a species believed to be extinct for decades are discovered running wild in Pinehallow. Together, Jayde and Maxen train bitten werewolves to control their new abilities while playing the role of detectives in order to find the rogue Alpha creating these new werewolves by biting innocent humans. Tension grows and relationships blossom as the secrets of Pinehallow's inhabitants begin to unfold. All the while, Jayde, Maxen and their new friends attempt to keep the oblivious human population around them from discovering the truth. For if the existence of supernatural creatures in town is revealed, then a larger threat will rain down on Jayde and her family. Hunters would arrive and along with them, the promise of death will follow.
