Refreshing change of pace - well written and illustrated. Piggy Sense! is a refreshing change of pace, finally a well-written and artistically illustrated book showing children how to save. I'd be proud to present Piggy Sense to young readers. well done, Fully deserving of 5 stars. --Jeri Zerr TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE I have been wondering where financial education had gone for children. Helping your young adult children learn how to manage their financial success comes from teaching them as small children. The author has really hit the nail on the head. I hope this book will be introduced to children in schools. --Freedom LOVE THIS BOOK!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for reading to kids. With two small children I've read about a gazillion kids books over the years. The illustrations are bright and vibrant. They are full of color. There are a lot of subtle things drawn into the backgrounds as well that are fun when you notice them. These are mostly aimed at adults but that always makes kids books fun to read. This is the first one I have read that is geared towards small children and focused on developing responsible money habits. --Obi Wan TOP 100 REVIEWER Reed makes the story fun to read, very wisely directed at the pleasures of saving money (during a time when everyone is scraping together credit cards too frequently) and at the end of his book he adds images of coins and bills - a fine touch of polishing the education of the story. And to finish the tale he offers My Piggy Sense Account - a true savings program on paper that children can actually use. Reed Moore displays all of his many talents in this terrific, beautifully illustrated little book. --Grady Harp HALL OF FAME TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE VOICE This book is about a child saving money by throwing it in a piggy bank. It was a 5-star book. I really liked the pictures in it and the fact that the words rhymed. I'm learning about money in school, so I know he's right about what he is saying. I'm good at making and saving money. I make money by losing a tooth, doing extra homework, and cleaning the house. --Miss L, scifiandscary.wordpress.com Whenever I read a book for children, I reflect back to my childhood and in the mind-set of a 6 to 8 year old me- the decision is made. So, did my 6 year old self like Piggy Sense? Yes, it did!! It had big colourful pictures, minimal but clear-cut text and a story that dreams of dreams. Piggy Sense is the ideal book for kids who are just being introduced to reading. It's also ideal for the time when you're introducing your kid to the idea of money-management. My favorite part of the book though were the last few pages where she explained the currency denominations mentioned in the book. Because, I'm not from the US, the penny-nickel-quarter system tends to go right over my head. But, clarifying it at the end really elevated the reading experience for me, because, for once, they weren't just words that I jump over and ignore; I felt included in the story and that, of course, is a feeling that I'll take away with me after closing the book. --Ooha Biddala, overratedsensibilities.wordpress.com I bought this book for my grandson who is in kindergarten. He is learning about allowance and is able to go to the store to spend his earned income. I love the principles and how fun this book makes reading with him. Please more books Reed Abbitt Moore. --Mark Wonderful Book. What a great book to help teach children the importance of money and saving. My nieces will love the illustrations. Great job to the author!--Mercedes Fox Great book for kids. The illustrations are terrific. --Annette P. Farley Got it for the younger kids(5&7) but the older ones liked it too. Funny, Rhymes, Educational. A great read for many ages. --Heather Warneke
