Lorraine is the mother of one boy and she trained as a secondary school teacher and Guidance Counsellor. The courses she completed include a B. A. in Humanities, a Higher Diploma in Education, a Higher Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, a Dyslexia tutoring course, a Diploma in Life Coaching as well as a number of T.E.F.L. courses. She gained a vast amount of experience over an eleven year period working as a teacher in various educational settings and with different age groups. She also worked as a Guidance Counsellor between two schools and a Youthreach Centre for two years. She currently develops educational materials and resources for children and students.
