Hazel Edwards is an Astrid Lindgren Award nominee for 2012, 2011 & 2010, and recently awarded the 2009 Australian Society of Authors Medal by her writing peers. Her hobbies are reading in the bath, swimming and belly dancing. Not simultaneously. Best known for the classic There's a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake, which was recently translated into Chinese, Hazel writes across all media, for adults and children. Benita's face is synonymous with Australian childhood and Play School, where she has been a presenter since 1969. Benita has worked extensively in television drama with roles in Homicide, Rafferty's Rules, A Country Practice, The Sullivans, and has also made appearances on Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation, Rove and the Micallef Programme. She has provided numerous voiceovers for television, radio and audiobooks.
