Jarmo Valkola is Professor and Doctor of Philosophy, having received his doctorate from the Department of Art Education at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. He is Docent at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, Docent Professor at the University of Lapland, Finland, and Docent at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. He is also Associate Professor of Film History and Theory at Baltic Film, Media, Art and Communication Institute of Tallinn University, Estonia. He has written 17 books and 50 scientific articles on cinema, art, and aesthetics in various languages, including Finnish, English, French, Italian, Turkish, Greek, Estonian and Hungarian.
