Dawson, Pittsburg State University, in CHOICE, February 2003, 40 (6) Author InformationDr. Tsuneo Watanabe is an invited research scientist at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) of Japan. He received his B.A. from the University of Tokyo in 1961 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in plant pathology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1964 and 1967. Dr. Watanabe was active as a plant pathologist and mycologist in the field of soil-borne diseases, their pathogens, and soil fungi at the National Institute of Agro-Environmental Sciences, Forestry, and Forest Products Research Institute of Japan for 30 years. Upon retirement, he engaged in one of the national projects at AIST for five years, and subsequently worked continuously as an invited research scientist.
