Reviews

Spectacular * Sara Cox, BBC Radio 2 Book Club * Such a fun, joyous read and purrfect for animal lovers. I adored it. * Hannah Gold, author of The Last Bear * One of my favourites... illustrated wonderfully by Emma McCann * Bex Lindsay, Fun Kids Bookworms podcast host on BBC Radio 2 Book Club * A perfect animal and friendship series for younger readers. * WRd About Books * Pia is an instantly likeable protagonist with an infectious energy and a great sense of humour. The funny asides, characterful illustrations and pet facts make this a joy to read, and children will whizz through it and look forward to the next in the series. Superb! * BookTrust * I love this book! Funny and adorable - Serena has created another gem with Pia. * Abiola Bello, author of Wild Magic * I absolutely loved meeting Pia, her family and her friends both human and animal. I wouldn't want to stop reading even if someone shouted 'bananas!' When I was young I wanted to be a vet and I just wish I'd had this wonderful book to read back then. * Chris Smith, co-author of the KID NORMAL series * Filled with Emma McCann's entertaining illustrations, plenty of laughs and 'oh no!' moments, Pia is such an endearing main character and inspiration for readers. * Check 'Em Out blog *

Author Information

Serena Patel is the author of the Anisha, Accidental Detective series which won the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award for Fiction. She lives in the West Midlands with her family and believes all children deserve to feel seen in the stories they read and that books are an important tool for empathy. When she's not writing Serena enjoys watching movies, reading and eating cake. Chocolate cake preferred. Emma McCann is a freelance illustrator, sporadic painter/print maker, occasional cake baker, and regular mess maker. She lives in Cornwall and works from an attic studio where her ideas are scribbled, Wacom'd, and Photoshopped into existence. In her spare time, Emma undertakes scientific research into Cornwall's best cream tea and takes it very, very seriously.
