Reviews

From reviews of the project proposal: The uniqueness of Gileadi's proposed book is that if offers excellent balance in introducing the entire field by focusing on a selection of important topics that can be covered within one semester course. ... I believe that the new proposed version will provide signficant improvement and over the existing one, focusing on updated topics of interest and being somewhat shorter. ... Prof. Eliezer Gileadi is a distinguished electrochemist with international reputation. He is the recognized authority on most of the topics of the book. Prof. Gileadi has taught at Case Western Reserve University an annual short course on electrochemical measurements, which used his previous book as a text. The course has been attended, over the years, by many hundreds of students ans has received excellent reviews. (Prof. Uziel Landau, Case Western Reserve University, Dept. of Chemical Eng., Cleveland, Ohio, USA) Dr. Gileadi is one the best known electrochemists and teachers in the world today. His name is recognized by almost everyone in the field of electrochemistry. ... Just to say that I very much look forward to this new book in print, and will certainly use it in teaching my courses. (Dr. B. MacDougall, National Research Council of Canada, Ontario, Canada)

The book provides a fine introduction to electrode kinetics, electrode capacitance, and electrocatalysis. All the classical techniques are described, and special chapters are devoted to electroplating, batteries, and fuel cells. In addition, the various chapters are also self-contained, which means that they can be consulted in sequence, or out of sequence, as the reader prefers. For this reason, the later chapters of the book will also be of use to generalists who wish to develop some specialist knowledge related to the burgeoning new field of materials electrochemistry. ... The special value of Gileadi's book is that it answers questions that students actually ask. His cast of mind is always analytical, methodical, and skeptical, and his language is clear and unambiguous. Stephen Fletcher, J. Solid State Electrochem., June 2011
