Phonics for Home: A Workbook for Promoting Early Literacy

Overview

If you want your child to start school ready to learn rather than learning to read, this workbook is a 'must' buy. Latest research points out that the golden years for children to learn any language and its written symbols are from birth to 8 years! And if children are not reading proficiently by age 8, they are four times less likely to graduate from high school! So time is of the essence when it comes to acquiring language and literacy skills. The experiences in this workbook have been expertly designed to promote all aspects of school readiness. School readiness is about young children having a sense of personal competence to engage with the world. Understandably, children who are able to read and write when they start school have a great advantage over those who do not.
