Author Information

Thomas J. Watters is an American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) board certified phlebotomist whose last phlebotomist position was for one of the largest laboratory processing companies in America. Drawing an average of over thirty patients daily, including infants and geriatrics suffering crippling disabilities such as ALS, organ transplant, and end stage cancer, Watters's nearly 98 percent successful draw percentage helped increased the draw site numbers four-fold during his tenure and created a dedicated and loyal patient base. A nine-year flight paramedic, he is also CPR, PALS, ACLS, and medical assistant certified; nationally registered as an emergency medical technician; and a certified Allied Health Instructor by the American Medical Technologists for meeting high standards of education and mastered experience in phlebotomy. Currently an instructor at the Intellitec Medical Institute, Watters currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife, Yui Susilavorn.
