Overview

The architecture of Philadelphia is a mix of historic and modern styles that reflect the city's history. The first European settlements appeared within the present day borders of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 17th century with most structures being built from logs. By the 18th century brick structures had become common. Georgian and later Federal style buildings dominated much of the cityscape.

Sean O'Rourke (born 1955) is an Irish journalist and broadcaster who works for the Irish public broadcaster, Raidio Teilifis Eireann (RTE). He currently presents the Today with Sean O'Rourke show every weekday morning on RTE Radio 1.O'Rourke has won ESB National Media Awards: Radio Broadcaster of the Year 1997, NUI Galway Alumni Award for Arts, Media & Communications 2007 and 2008 PPI News Broadcaster of the Year. In June 2011 he was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Laws by his alma mater, NUI Galway.
