Overview

Otis and Meg were inseparable until her family abruptly moved away after the terrible accident that left Otis' little brother dead. Since then, it's been three years of radio silence, during which time Otis has become the unlikely protege of eighteen-year-old Dara-part drill sergeant, part friend-who's hell-bent on transforming Otis into the Olympic swimmer she can no longer be. Paula Garner spends most of her time making narratives out of words and food, despite being surrounded by an alarming TBR pile and a very bad cat. She is somewhat evangelical on the subjects of absinthe, bitter cocktails, and oysters. Paula lives in the Chicago area with her family. Phantom Limbs is her first novel. Nicholas J. Mondelli is an English student at the University of Toledo and an aspiring author, poet, and artist. He has been on stage for most of his life, at both the education and community level, and has been singing just as long. He's a hobbyist with his fingers in multiple projects of the arts, including music of which he plays three instruments and collaborates with Boston musician Terrance Reeves. His current project is a biography on his grandfather, the late Italian-American Joe Mondelli, which has taken him all across the country and, soon, to Italy.
