Overview

The Petroleum Refining series is comprised of five volumes covering the range of technologies used in the petroleum refining industry: crude oil, petroleum products, process flowsheets, separation processes, conversion processes, materials and equipment, refinery operations and management. This volume collects and condenses the information needed to characterize, analyze and evaluate crude oils from different origins and their corresponding petroleum cuts as well. The characteristics and specifications of all the petroleum products, along with their simplified production flowcharts, are reviewed. The series is designed for the engineers and technicians who will operate the refineries in the 21st century. By that time, solutions will have to be found for a number of problems in two areas: increasingly severe product specifications, and protection of the air and water. This collection provides those in the refining industry with the essentials of petroleum refining, as well as information on the special technologies they will be using.
