Author Information

Dr. Rafed El-Sayed (born 1973 in Koln) studied Egyptology and Oriental Studies at the Universitat zu Koln (1999 Master of Arts, 2006 PhD in Egyptology). His research interests cover Ancient Egyptian Language and Archaeology with a focus on Greek-Roman and Late Antique Egypt, History of science, History of religions, and Cultural contacts. From 2000 until 2004 he was Research Associate in the Collaborative research Centre SFB 389 ACACIA at the Universitat zu Koln. From 2005 until 2011 he held the position of Research Associate and Field Director in the archaeological Project 'Athribis in Upper Egypt' at Universitat Tubingen. In 2012 he was awarded a Dilthey-Fellowship (Volkswagenstiftung) and currently he is directing an archaeological project (project Min-Panos) concerning the 'Change of sacred landscape in the Akhmim region (Upper Egypt) in Late Antiquity' at Georg-August-Universitat Gottingen.
