Shaun and Victoria Pounder are the authors of Pete the Platypus Discovers the Joys of Pickleball.Their adventure began one afternoon with a simple game of pickleball, which, like Pete, transformed their lives. They quickly developed a deep love and passion for the sport, aiming to play several times a week and to introduce as many people as possible to this engaging activity.They committed to expanding the reach of pickleball, enhancing its popularity and accessibility globally, believing in its benefits for families, friends, and communities.To further this cause, they created their own line of pickleball products named Love Pickle.Realizing that children, the future of the sport, often had limited options for pickleball paddles and fewer opportunities to play than adults, they included in their three-point mission the goal to grow the junior market. They introduced a range of children's paddles tailored to different age groups and other initiatives to engage young players.In February 2024, while trekking in New Zealand, Shaun and Victoria wrote this book, envisioning it as a fantastic way to introduce young readers to the sport.They hope you and your children find it enjoyable.
