OverviewThe exacerbated advance of technologies in the 21st century has entered the various social spheres, leading society to be characterized as a Digital Society. Immersed in this contemporary context, this study addressed the following problem: What are the theoretical perspectives on the advantages, possibilities and challenges of using digital media and storytelling techniques applied to Portuguese language teaching in the construction of narrative literary genres, with a view to finding improvements in teachers' methodologies with these innovative tools? The general aim of the research was to understand current theoretical conceptions of methodologies in Portuguese language teaching. The specific objectives were: to analyze the different theoretical conceptions about the impact of digital media on Portuguese language teaching and learning processes; to discuss the advantages, possibilities and challenges of using digital media in methodological practices in Portuguese language teaching; and to understand the applications of storytelling techniques as mediating tools in the construction of narrative literary genres.
