OverviewAt no other time in the history of the profession have recreational therapists been presented with such tremendous opportunities to improve care and advance their profession. By gaining perspectives on issues and concerns in recreational therapy presented within this book by leading authorities, students and practitioners will be better prepared to serve clients and further their profession through a renewed mind-set. Who Will Benefit from This Book? Perspectives on Recreational Therapy is designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in recreational therapy. Its contents should also prove helpful to those practicing recreational therapy. It therefore is a text that helps prepare students for the realization of what it is like to be a practitioner and to serve as a resource for them once they have entered into their careers. Two chapters that may draw the most interest from students are titled How to Take and Pass Tests and Hire Me! The first gives valuable information about how to prepare for tests in courses and for the NCTRC certification exam. (Study Guide) Hire Me! provides detailed information on how to obtain a position as a recreational therapist. User-Friendly Approach: Throughout Perspectives on Recreational Therapy, the authors have attempted to make the content of the chapters readable and easy to follow. Reading comprehension questions are provided at the conclusion of each chapter to aid students in gaining understandings of the material and to provide instructors with possible exam questions.
