He has directed several research projects on the pedagogy of death. He was awarded the 13th European Award for Excellence in the Social Sciences and Humanities (2023–2024). Agustín de la Herrán Gascón is a professor at the Department of Pedagogy (Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain).
