Personal Mysteries

Overview

Caroline Morgan Di Giovanni has already earned a reputation in literary Toronto as the editor of three editions of the hugely significant books Italian Canadian Voices: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose (1984), Italian Canadian Voices: A Literary Anthology (2006), and Bravo! A Selection of Prose and Poetry by Italian Canadian Writers (2012). Personal Mysteries is a vivid and deeply personal poetry collection that uncovers the hidden depths of memory, emotion, and self-discovery. With striking imagery and lyrical precision, each poem transforms everyday moments into profound reflections on love, loss, and identity. At once contemplative and urgent, these poems navigate relationships, nostalgia, and reinvention, illuminating the unspoken truths that shape our lives. Di Giovanni's keen eye and evocative storytelling turn the ordinary into the extraordinary, offering both insight and solace. Personal Mysteries in many ways is a culmination of Di Giovanni's literary voyage, and as she states, "" There is an element of dramatic storytelling in the first three sections, culminating in the fourth section with two first-person narrative monologues delivered by a woman.""
