OverviewThe volume focuses on the onomastic citations of Arthurian characters in the lyrics of troubadours and trouveres, establishing a connection between their poetry and the Arthurian romance tradition. The use of exempla and motifs turns out to be well-established in both examined poetic traditions. Ample space is given by the poets to the tale of Tristan and its protagonists, but there is no lack of references to other characters as well. The work is thus structured in two parts: the first engages with the Tristanian matter and the second concentrates on the Arthurian matter. This study offers an analysis of the references to Arthurian characters, accompanied by an examination of the convergences between lyric and narrative, without neglecting an overview aimed at shedding light on the functions assumed by the figures mentioned and how they are integrated into the lyrical discourse.
