Author Information

David Wilkins is a Cambridge Wrangler with a Ph.D. in differential geometry from Durham University. For the past decade he has been analysing the work of William Rowan Hamilton in the wider context of the history of mathematics, and he brought this work to fruition in Ireland's 'Year of Hamilton'. He was invited to write the Hamilton entry for the Encylopaedia Britannica. David is a lecturer in the School of Mathematics, Trinity College Dublin, where he has created the world's best website on Hamilton.
