Overview

From the 2017 John W. Campbell Award Winner for Best Writer, Ada Palmer's Perhaps the Stars is the final book of the Hugo Award-shortlisted Terra Ignota series. World Peace turns into global civil war. In the future, the leaders of Hive nations--nations without fixed location--clandestinely committed nefarious deeds in order to maintain an outward semblance of utopian stability. But the facade could only last so long. The comforts of effortless global travel and worldwide abundance may have tempered humanity's darkest inclinations, but conflict remains deeply rooted in the human psyche. All it needed was a catalyst, in form of special little boy to ignite half a millennium of repressed chaos. Now, war spreads throughout the globe, splintering old alliances and awakening sleeping enmities. All transportation systems are in ruins, causing the tyranny of distance to fracture a long-united Earth and threaten to obliterate everything the Hive system built. With the arch-criminal Mycroft nowhere to be found, his successor, Ninth Anonymous, must not only chronicle the discord of war, but attempt to restore order in a world spiraling closer to irreparable ruin. The fate of a broken society hangs in the balance. Is the key to salvation to remain Earth-bound or, perhaps, to start anew throughout the far reaches of the stars? Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects, and cinematic music! Performed by Chris Stinson, Elena Anderson, David Cui Cui, Kay Eluvian, James Konicek, Robb Moreira, Stephon Walker, Wyn Delano, Neha Gargava, RJ Bayley, Yasmin Tuazon, Nora Achrati, Jacob Yeh, Marissa Clay, Elias Khalil, Rose Elizabeth Supan / Mort Shelby, Gail Shalan, Keval Shah, Marni Penning, NJ Agwuna, Alejandro Ruiz, Dawn Ursula, Tanja Milojevic, Crystal Lee, Ryan Dalusung, Jenna Sharpe, Duyen Washington, Christopher Tester, Valentina Vinci, Torian Brackett, Shanta Parasuraman, Scott McCormick, Colleen Delany, Steve Wannall, Bradley Foster Smith, and Christopher Williams.

Ada Palmer is the author of the Terra Ignota fiction series and winner of the John W. Campbell Award. She is a professor in the history department of the University of Chicago, specializing in Renaissance history and the history of ideas. She is also a composer of folk and Renaissance-tinged a cappella music, most of which she performs with the group Sassafrass. She writes about history for a popular audience at exurbe.com and about SF and fantasy-related matters at Tor.com. Robb Moreira a bilingual audiobook narrator and voiceover artist with over a decade of acting training through the Fame School of the Arts and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He has experience working on IVR, medical training videos, descriptions for the blind, and commercials. He is currently the voice of Pushy the Push Pop in the US and Canada and has worked Off-Broadway. RJ Bayley's professional talking career began with presenting his chat show on Edinburgh radio. Soon his charming, distinctive British voice was on stations across BBC, TalkSport, and Smooth networks. Unleashing his passion for stories, RJ transitioned to being a full-time audiobook narrator in 2016. Having studied screenwriting to masters level and as an on-air arts critic for the BBC, his theoretical knowledge combined with his natural vocal dexterity allows him to do justice to both text and subtext. He swears he's not trying to sabotage his own career by deafening himself with heavy metal while walking his dog.
