Percival Gynt and the Inevitability of Fire and Other Cases

Overview

One day, the fate of the entire universe will rest in the hands of one man. A hero. An accountant. But Percival Gynt is neither of those things. Not yet. Collected here for the first time are the early adventures of Percival Gynt, a young man caught between his own dark past and an incandescent future. A future of starships and sorcery. Of monsters and mysteries. Of... um... card games and... conference calls? In this volume, you'll learn how Percival caught his first killer, toppled a despot, and saved Christmas. And YOU will guide Percival through his darkest day, as he seeks any path to escape... ...the inevitability of fire. Percival Gynt and the Inevitability of Fire and Other Cases presents eleven stories of maximalist space-fantasy, existential angst, comedy, adventure, and mystery in the 201st century, in this standalone prequel to the novel Percival Gynt and the Conspiracy of Days.

Author Information

Drew Melbourne is the neurodivergent geek author of the Percival Gynt books, A DARK HOLE DARKLY, and ARCHENEMIES. He was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs, where he read a lot, played a lot of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, and watched a lot of STAR TREK and DR WHO. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Creative Writing. If not for his ADHD, he presumably would've either majored in something more practical or written many, MANY more books. After a couple of decades spent New Yorkering, Drew is now back in the Philly suburbs with his wife Laura, best kiddo Sam, and cats Elsa, Dancer, and (omg why am I not done listing cats?) Kitten McTalkerson.
