OverviewThe Garden of the Gods has been a source of fascination for a wide variety of people, ranging from prehistoric hunter-gatherers to modern-day visitors. This story of the Garden of the Gods, enhanced with vintage and contemporary photographs, is the story of those people who encountered this geologic wonder, either through circumstance or through choice. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationToni Hamill, a retired teacher, resides in Monument, Colorado, where she taught English and American History at Lewis-Palmer High School. She graduated from Colorado Women's College (CWC) in 1966 with a BA in Liberal Arts and from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) in 1997 with a Master of Arts degree in American Studies. While at UCCS she participated in an archaeological field school in the Garden of the Gods. The experience of excavating prehistoric sites inspired her to write her master's degree thesis about the people who have encountered the Garden of the Gods from prehistoric times to present. People of the Garden of the Gods is the result of that research.Toni is married and has a son, 2 grandchildren, 4 bonus children and 10 bonus grandchildren. She is a member of the Zebulon Pike Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society, and various dog sport organizations. When not writing, doing genealogical research, or having fun with her family, Toni trains and competes in dog agility and scent work with her 3 Australian Shepherds.
