OverviewPenny, a 1 pence coin, is friends with Tuppence, a 2p coin. The two are best friends and sit happily in a purse until their owner goes shopping and the two get split up! Tuppence ends up in a shop till, where the coin meets a third coin named Tilly, an older and wiser coin, who explains to Tuppence what has happened. Meanwhile, Penny remains in the purse, until getting spent in a different shop altogether, and is then given out in change to a little boy named Jack, who puts Penny in a copper jar. Tuppence spends a night in a safe, before being given in change to an old man, who just happens to be Jack's grandfather. When Tuppence falls out of the old man's pocket, Jack finds the coin and it gets added to his copper jar. Thus is the ever-changing life of a coin, as Penny & Tuppence learn that they are important and that their life can be exciting. K. J.
