George William Albert Koch was born in Germany in 1878. At age 14, he emigrated to the U.S. He graduated from Pratt Institute in New York. He worked as a freelance artist in Connecticut for several years, later becoming the art director of the American Crayon Company. The Prang Company originally published his works. Valora Abbett is a certified professional color specialist and artist with 20 years of experience in the field. As a lover of art, design, and nature, she is dedicated to bringing rare, forgotten, and beautiful works about these subjects back into the hands of today's readers.
