She obtained her undergraduate degree at Humboldt State University, her MSN at University of San Francisco School of Nursing and her Ed.D at University of San Francisco, School of Education. She obtained a post doctorate from University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) in the Department of Family Health Nursing under the direction of Dr. Susan Kools. Dr. Linnard-Palmer is a tenured professor at Dominican University of California in Marin County teaching pediatrics, research and pharmacology. She'continues her clinical practice as a pediatric oncology nurse coordinator for Stanford University, Lucille Packard Children's Hospital and pediatric staff nurse at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
