Reviews

The second edition of Pediatric Neuropsychology continues with the splendid tradition of the first edition. The volume will serve professionals and students alike who need to increase their understanding of the neuropsychological aspects of specific medical or neurodevelopmental disorders. The quality of each chapter is exceptional. Kudos to Yeates, Ris, Taylor, and Pennington! This is an excellent, evidence-based read. - Stephen R. Hooper, Associate Director, Clinical Center for the Study of Development and Learning, University of North Carolina School of Medicine Since its original publication, this volume has truly set the standard for the field of pediatric neuropsychology. The second edition highlights how the field has grown over the past decade, not only in terms of assessment and research regarding cognitive deficits, but especially with regard to developmental and psychosocial outcome trajectories. It features incisive new chapters on developmental disorders and a greater integration of an interdisciplinary neuroscience perspective. This book is beyond doubt the 'go-to' text for graduate coursework and postdoctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology, and deserves a prominent place in the bookcase of even the most seasoned practitioner. - Jacobus Donders, Chief Psychologist, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, Grand Rapids, Michigan This valuable work not only covers the field comprehensively, but also highlights areas of unresolved controversy, and includes suggestions for future research. It will be useful for all professionals who work with children. In my upcoming course on neuropsychology and education, this book will be at the top of the reference list. - Martha Bridge Denckla, Director, Developmental Cognitive Neurology, Kennedy Krieger Institute; Professor of Neurology, John Hopkins University School of Medicine
