Xristian moves between the physical world and its adjacent layers with the ease of someone who has had a long time to learn the geography, accompanied by an assistant whose composure is nearly equal to his own and a support network that includes, among other resources, a café that does not appear on any floor plan and a log-keeper who notices everything.
