Overview

Peace Sign One boomer's struggle for peace. Susan's life was like a rock and roll song from the 60s, a blend of blues, jazz, and gospel. Peace Sign is the story of Susan, an active and lively member of the boomer generation who wants to stay young forever. She attends her 50th high school reunion, looking for romance, and when she sees the changes in her classmates, she realizes there is no fountain of youth! When she meets Bill, the younger man of her dreams, life is wonderful, and she feels young and in love until she discovers her health is failing. Reluctantly, she enters a senior care center when she realizes there is no age like old age and joins fellow boomers sharing a lot of senior moments. With a rock and roll attitude, she navigates her senior journey and embraces a few new facts of life. She realizes that this change in life is about more than a bucket list and has spiritual significance. As she anticipates her 60th high school reunion, she gains a sense of peace that has eluded her and her generation for so long.

Author Information

Vivian Crosby (White) is a boomer! She is a native of Kansas City, a graduate of Wyandotte High School and the University of Kansas. She was inspired to write Peace Sign, when she was working in a senior living community and caring for her mother, Virginia, who lived to be 101! She currently lives in Overland Park, KS, with her husband and enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loves to paint.
