Such a fun, relatable little read for kids who are in their “I want a pet” era! * vanesajosevski.author via instagram * Firstly, the relatable scenario of ‘Can I get a dog?’ is the focus of this dramatic and humorous tale. (I feel that a lot of kids can relate to the parental argument of ‘It takes a lot of responsibility to care for a dog. If you show me, we can consider it.’ ) Secondly, the pacing is excellent. Author Information
Nathan Luff grew up on a farm in rural NSW as one of five boys. His colourful upbringing is often the inspiration for the stories he tells. Nathan is the author of The Nerd Herd and Family Holidays Disasters series and the middle grade novels Chicken Stu, Bad Grammar and Jungle Escape. In addition to writing children’s books and plays, Nathan can be found programming children's and YA events for writers’ festivals and teaching in primary schools. James Foley makes children’s books for children who read books. If you’re a child and you’re eating his books, you’re doing it wrong. In the Lion was his first book with Walker, and it was selected for the International Youth Library’s prestigious White Raven List. The cult-favourite My Dead Bunny was short-listed for the 2016 Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards, and the sequel There’s Something Weird About Lena was released in 2020. Jame's latest book with Walker, Paw Prints: Fuzzball, is written by Nathan Luff. Legend says James can grow a beard in an afternoon. He is a massive Marvel movie nerd and comes from a long line of queuing enthusiasts. He lives near Fremantle/Walyalup in Western Australia with his wife Renae, their two kids and a labrador called Frankie.
