Pause

Overview

I woke up one day with the novel in my head; perhaps after many years my subconscious got tired of me, of my frequent darknesses and put together, not as a dream but as a clear narration, ""Pause"" in my head. While I do not consider myself a pessimist I like to think I am a realist and an idealist that loves happiness, joy, wittiness, sassiness, dark sense of humor and laughter. I love to laugh. I clearly remember getting on the bus on a summer Monday in 2014 (I almost always used public transportation, car pulled or biked to work) and noticing a substantial change in the age demographic of the riders, it was packed with 20 somethings, the millennials. The same day at work I noticed, perhaps because my attention was triggered, that most new hires seem to be in their early or mid-twenties; it felt like an awakening. An awakening to pause? According to book genres, this novel is disaster fiction, not sure if it's a thriller; for me is more adventure fiction. Perhaps is a combination of both and I'm perfectly okay with that since I happen to love both genres. I have always been fascinated by the road since I was a child. My parents would drive all the way from Kansas City to southwest Mexico, a journey that would take three days. Sadly, my memories are spotty, I feel I should remembered more because I was seven years old the last time we did the trip as a family. My love for the American roads, especially the county roads and the forest highways is always present. I'm in awe of the engineering, construction, maintenance; sometimes I get chills at the miles and miles of beauty that the American roads cross, of course almost always listening to some good music. You will find peppered throughout my travels some of my favorite singers and songs. If you don' know them and you like all types of music, please look them up.
