The art of Paule Vézelay (1892-1984), celebrated in this groundbreaking publication, is remarkable in its breadth. Over her long career she created an extraordinarily diverse output encompassing painting, collage, sculpture, constructions, illustration, textiles, photography, poetry, prose, critical writing and even a film script. As a mark of her considerable accomplishments, she was celebrated with a show at Tate in the year before her death. Simon Grant is a curator, writer and co-editor of Picpus magazine. Gemma Brace is a curator and writer, and head of exhibitions at Arnolfini, Bristol. Helen Janecek is an art historian and former health service administrator. Sarah Wilson is an art historian and curator, and Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Courtauld Institute. Nina Gioria is a masters student at the École du Louvre in Paris, and wrote her research paper on Paule Vézelay.
