OverviewThis contemporary classic by renowned scholar Gordon Fee explores the Spirit's significant role in Pauline life and thought. After Fee published his magisterial God's Empowering Presence, he was asked to write a more accessible volume that would articulate Paul's priorities for experiencing the life of the Spirit in the church. Fee's bestselling introduction to Paul and the Spirit, Paul, the Spirit, and the People of God, went on to sell over 70,000 copies. This book by one of the greatest evangelical and Pentecostal New Testament interpreters of our time argues that the presence of the Spirit is, for Paul and for us, the crucial matter for the Christian life. This edition features new study questions and a foreword by Dean Pinter, who commends the book to a new generation of readers. Fee is professor emeritus of New Testament studies at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Prior to Regent, he taught for twelve years at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He coauthored the bestselling How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth and is the author of numerous books, including Pauline Christology, God's Empowering Presence, Jesus the Lord according to Paul the Apostle, and commentaries on 1 Corinthians, Philippians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Revelation. Alan Crookham was the first baby born in North Texas, where he was raised, in 1985. At the age of sixteen he left home to be a missionary, and lived all over the world for the next fifteen years. Including two years in Turkey, and over a decade in Panama, Costa Rica, and Argentina. He met his wife in Panama and his two sons were born there. They primarily speak Spanish at home, but English outside. In 2018 he moved back to the US, where he continues to serve in ministry as a volunteer youth pastor, Sunday school teacher, and executive director of Found Ministries, an international nonprofit that provides school supplies for children in El Salvador, food and supplies for refugees in Iraq, and many other projects. Alan initially began narrating as a way to support his family as he continued in ministry, but quickly fell in love with it, and enjoys every day he gets to spend lending his voice to these wonderful projects.
