Overview

The aim of my work is to reinterpret the traditional goldsmithing technique of filigree making. Pattern abstraction is at the forefront of my work in order to develop a modern character. Engaging with old, traditional ornaments is particularly important in relation to the reinterpretation of my filigree jewellery. Patterns and ornaments play an important role in jewellery design. By stringing together individual elements and varying them, new ornaments or structures are created. These structures are revealed in a shaped frame. This frame often takes the form of one of the structural elements. New outer shapes are chosen here, which differ from traditional designs in their free form.
