Patricia St John was missionary; she was a nurse; she based her children's books on places where she lived or visited; her parents were missionaries.. Irene Howat does a wonderful job of making Miss St John come to life on the pages. A recommendation on the back of the book is for ages 7-9 (read to me) and 9-14 (read myself), but I would think it's a great book to give to anyone of any age. CLC World

Author Information

Irene Howat is an award–winning author and poet who lives in Scotland. She has published many biographical books for all ages and is particularly well–known for her biographical material. She has written many books about the lives of different Christians from around the world. She has also written an autobiographical work entitled ‘Pain My Companion’.
