Author Information

ConSandra McNeil earned her Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln specializing in marriage and family, as well as African-American families. She is currently a professor of sociology at Jackson State University. Tara Jabbaar-Gyambrah holds a Ph.D. in American studies with a concentration in women’s studies from the University of Buffalo. Currently, she is the director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Hilbert College and a senior lecturer in the sociology department at Niagara University.
